13I’m a new patient. What can I expect at my first appointment?
It depends if you are booked in for a regular check up or for an amalgam consultation. Regular Check Up – 30 minutes in duration and it is optional to include a clean and scale and X-rays are taken if required. You will receive a recall reminder six months after your first appointment and routinely every six months after that. Amalgam Consultation – 1 hour in duration covers process for amalgam removal, electrical current reading and answering all your questions. We like to take an X-ray of your whole mouth (OPG) if you do not have recent X-rays. You will be provided with a quote for work required, allowing you to digest the information and sufficient time to implement a detoxification program prior to removal. You are then able to book in for treatment / amalgam removal at a time that is convenient for you.
